The Buffalo Concertina All-Stars were established in October 1997 after a group of concertina players assembled for a jam at a Fall Polka Dance in Buffalo. The jam session featured polka musicians from around Buffalo or with Buffalo roots! The sound of eight concertinas was so unique that the guys decided to restart a concept that was popular in the 1960's a performing "Concertina Band"! Today, the Buffalo Concertina All-Stars are the only concertina band in the United States.
