Zydeco/Cajun Grammy Celebration

Celebrate the creation of the new Zydeco/Cajun Grammy category with a party at the Grant Street Dance Hall! The party, open to the public, will include a champagne toast, light catering and live music.

For the past six years, Zydeco/Cajun musicians -- led by Terrance and Cynthia Simien -- have been lobbying for their own category at the Grammy Awards. (Typically, Zydeco/Cajun musicians have competed in the general folk categories.) This year, the lobbying effort paid off and the new category will be part of next spring's Grammy Awards.
