Lat/Lon: 41.9498, -87.6589

What:

NPR calls them "the greatest live band in New York," the New Yorker calls them a cross between "a Gypsy wedding band, the Sex Pistols, King Tubby, and Kraftwerk," and the Alternative Press says they're like "the United Nations assembled in a mosh pit."

Gogol Bordello has been breaking down musical barriers since 1999 with supercharged music based on a brutal gypsy two-step rhythm. Onstage the group ignites the crowd with a dizzying display of excitement and energy while their records feature music infused with elements of ska, punk, rap, reggae, and western twang (just to name a few). Their current tour is in support of their latestalbum, "Super Taranta!", which frontman Eugene Hutz believes will help Gogol Bordello "conquer the world."
