What:

Girard “Jay-B” Brown a native of Lafayette, Louisiana has over 30 years experience in music. His primary instrument is the bass guitar. In 2002 Jay-B decided he would teach himself to play the accordion. He invested in a cheap accordion and sought advice and techniques from his Louisiana friends and relatives like Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural of Buckwheat Zydeco, Chris Ardoin of Chris Ardoin & the NuStep, Gerard St. Julian, Buckwheat’s drummer, Horace Trahan of Horace Trahan & the New Ossun Express, and Geno Delafosse of Geno Delafosse & the French Rocking Boogie. Jay-B’s strong will and perseverance led him from practicing on a cheap accordion to perfecting a multiple of single row, triple row and piano accordions. He formed a Zydeco cover band called Jay-B & the Zydeco Posse in 2004 and it has been a fun, high energy roller coaster ride ever since.
