The Nice Guy Trio

The award winning Nice Guy Trio is Darren Johnston - trumpet, Rob Reich - accordion, and Daniel Fabricant - bass. Inspired by the success of last year's "Root Exchange" residency at San Francisco's Red Poppy Art House, the Nice Guys decided to try another season, this time at the CMC! First Fridays of the month, for the next five months starting in June, will showcase the trio with a guest musician or musicians. In the spirit of last year's series, each concert will be a unique, collaborative experience featuring many new, original compositions which allow members of the trio and each guest to shine from within their sometimes contrasting comfort zones, and through working together in a spirit of mutual respect, to experience making music in new ways. As with last year, all of the chosen guests are based out of the Bay Area, as a testament to the diversity and incredible wealth of talent that exists here. This concert features saxophone/composers Kasey Knudsen and Evan Francis. These concerts were made possible by a generous grant by Friends of San Francisco Chamber Music.
