The Karl Lebherz Band has been known throughout the Bay Area for many years, and his many loyal fans follow him to all his concerts.

Karl is a very talented, versatile entertainer who has the uncanny ability of getting people up on their feet shortly after the music starts. Just to hear him play makes it very hard for almost anyone to sit still. It is not uncommon for audiences to get carried away - swaying, clapping, whooping, hollering and dancing to the music.

His charming, charismatic personality quickly endears him to his audiences.

Karl's repertoire includes not only standard American melodies but also European favorites from many different countries, and many Hawaiian tunes as well. With nimble fingers flying over the keyboard, one can usually hear his sentimental voice accompanying his romantic songs and ballads.

Karl knows exactly how to create the right mood - whether in a small room with 50 people, or a large auditorium with over 400 people. Whether rumba, tango, polka, cha-cha, waltz or Rheinlander tunes; the the dance floor is always fully occupied.

Big Lou's Polka Casserole (San Francisco, CA)

Pay a visit to the home of the happy hour polka parties at Schroeder's German Restaurant (a short walk from the Embarcadero BART station.) This is turning into a happening post-work scene. Join us for polka and the best beer selection in town. And don't forget to practice your beer-drinking and beer-stein-holding skills for the contests - win valuable prizes! The Golden Gate Bavarian Club will be there offering polka lessons to the uninitiated.

Big Lou, the accordion princess, came early to polka and stayed late. She has played in Polkacide and founded Those Darn Accordions. Big Lou began playing in the honky tonks of Central Texas, eventually finding her way to the Bay Area where she currently resides.

When Big Lou recorded Polka Casserole as a one-time-only project, it turned out to be so much fun making the first record that she decided to keep the band going. They adopted the album title as their name and the rest is history. They play polkas of the world in a style unlike anyone else's. The band members -- between the six of them -- have played blues, jazz, country/western, rock, and just about any other style you can think of. They bring all of this diverse music to the polka table.

Seaside Oktoberfest (Seaside, OR)

Join us for the Seaside Oktoberfest, just two blocks from the beach and featuring a day full of music, food, and craft vendors. Performers include the three piece accordion band Scandinavian Country from Astoria Oregon and national recording artists Those Darn Accordions.

Those Darn Accordions, San Francisco's accordion-fueled rock 'n' roll band, pumps out quirky, catchy originals chronicling life in the weird lane. The six-piece group -- fronted by lead singer/squeezebox wizard Paul Rogers and bellows-pumping babes Carri Abrahms, Susie Davis and Suzanne Garramone -- promises to forever rearrange your understanding of the accordion. TDA's four extreme squeezeboxers mix solid keyboard chops with a groundbreaking use of guitar effects pedals and amps to produce a super-cool sound like nothing you've ever heard emanating from an accordion.
